Update on Google video ads
There been an update on Adsense blog in regards to video ads. I wonder why Google doesn’t update both AdWords and Adsense blog simultaneously. In any case I’ve got some answers to my questions:
- The bidding will be the same as for graphic ads
- Maximum time of ad is 2 minutes
- Advertiser will be charged only if customer clicks on landing page link
- Sites owners that subscribe to google image ads won’t be able to opt out from the video ones
This sound better, but as usual I am still skeptical. I assume that the bids for video ads will be higher than for a text. That’s why I need data that supports a point that video ads are better than text ones. My opinion is that in general people who surf net tend to be younger and more averse to marketing messages. My hypothesis is that video ads won’t be more effective than text ads and ROI will be lower. I am also expecting that in countries and regions were broadband internet is not developed these ads will kill the traffic.
